Slightly darker shade of gray in upper parts and chest than nearby Surfbirds, similar in size to the Sanderlings that were present. Mild . Long, slightly drooped, tapered bill with orange-ish color in the base of bill. Pale to medium orange-ish legs. Solid dark gray head and chest diffusing into large but soft-edged gray spots in belly, with off-white background color in between spotting. Tail slightly longer than wingtips.
