NOTES: Background: PTILORIS MAGNIFICA (DOUBLE GROWL); Range status: NORMAL; Breeding status: UNKNOWN; Frequency of sound: NORMAL; General climate: HUMID; Cover density: THICK; MALES BEND FORWARD ON HIGH PERCH, RAISE THE PLUMES AND THEN SHAKE AND SPREAD THESE WHILE 'CLAPPING' THE WINGS ABOVE THE BACK. THIS ACCOMPANIED BY MUCH HOPPING ABOUT AND VOCALIZING, THE LATTER OFTEN AS THE BIRD STRETCHES UPWARD. THERE IS ALSO A 5 ADULT(S); Sex: UNKNOWN CONSIDERABLE AMOUNT OF CHASING FROM BRANCH TO BRANCH AND FROM TREE TO TREE AS FEMALES APPROACH A MALE. DENSE FOLIAGE MADE IT IMPOSSIBLE TO SEE WHO WAS PURSUING WHOM. Other Behaviors: Court, Perform Visual Display.
