Short accelerating buzzy song, interspersed with call notes. Lots of river noise. Bird was singing from the crown of an emergent short (~5 meter tall) tree on side of road in short stature scrub, at edge of subtropical montane forest. About 7 meters distant. Light wind, mostly solid high overcast. A pair of this species (likely the same individuals) was building a nest across a small valley, perhaps 50 meters distant.
