Observation details
I was quite surprised to see an Empid in the northwest corner of the park (beyond the fence, in the part that is usually(?) closed). The upperparts were gray-green, with the back being much more greenish than the head; the underparts were grayish with a wash of yellow that was more obvious in some lights than others. It had dark (blackish?) wings with two pretty obvious wingbars. The bill was pretty small; the top looked all-dark and the lower mandible appeared to be mostly pale but possibly with a dark tip. Its primaries were quite long. It called a few times, a rather sharp "pip!" call, unlike a Dusky's soft "whit." It also flicked it tail upwards rather frequently.
