Media notes
Female of presumably this species. Latest insights from research is that Small Tree-finch (pop 1) and Medium Tree-finches (pop 2) are hybridizing (offspring are genetic population 3). Large Tree-finch is presumably extinct on the island. All "large-billed" individuals should be considered Medium Tree-finch (pop 2), but safest identified by genes. This female was photographed in the highlands and is presumably this species. See my latest photos on http://www.sapayoa.com/ SAPAYOA! Taken during a http://www.mindobirdtours.com/ MINDO BIRD TOURS trip. Latest sightings on http://www.avesecuador.com/ AVESECUADOR. Elevation: 338 m. Date added to IBC: June 21, 2016.
