Seen as a pair, creeping along mostly bare ground apparently searching for seeds and insects. Rarely stopping or sitting still the birds appeared to be aware of each other, while maintaining some small distances (5 to 10 feet) from White-crowned Sparrows.
Observation details
A pair of Horned Larks observed between the parking lot and the Visitors' Centre in Algonquin Park, creeping along mostly bare ground apparently searching for seeds and insects. Rarely stopping or sitting still, the birds appeared to be aware of each other, while maintaining some small distances (5 to 10 feet) from White-crowned Sparrows.
