A male Australian Shoveler duck preening, stretching and drinking grotty lake water. This male Australian Shoveler was perching on a partly submerged log in Lake Monger near Perth in the late afternoon, preening. He preened, stretched his wing and dipped his bill to drink water contaminated by a severe blue-green algal (cyanobacterial) bloom. Elevation: 13 m. Date added to IBC: June 24, 2018.
