Observation details
Female with all-black back (with bluish tones) and crown, barred flanks, white facial stripe, and very thin supercilium - very actively flaking bark off tree, one of several that have been worked over in the immediate area - a male BBWO was reported at this same location by Rick Stronks and Wendy Hill during the Huntsville CBC on 17 December 2019 - thanks to Stan Fairchild who found today’s bird - a great Christmas gift for the birders in attendance
