Observation details
*very high. Had a long discussion over the CBC dinner about numbers. Insane swarms in the early morning in water between whales point and Esther's island. Did a clicker count for about a minute of new birds coming in and got ~50 per minute with an additional ~180 birds per minute flying further out and among the rafts in the water. One clicker count by 10s produced ~850 in under a minute of birds in the water, flying, and on the shore of Esther's island and Smith's point. Some on Tuckernuck shore but majority of all birds were in the water and flying through. Photos and one video of masses. (Best depiction of part of the flocks in the water is the 6th photo).
