Observation details
A very confusing bird. It was bright rufous below, but had dark streaks on the throat and what looked like a the start of a pale submalar stripe. The tail tips were rufous, except of central tail feathers which were tipped white and not particularly prolonged. Norvil called it Reddish, but due to the throat-streaks and start of a sub malar I think it is black-throated - but I am not sure. David Beebe has some photos.
