Media notes
Lacks the long, sweptback wing appearance of a CONI. Relatively more rounded wing tip than CONI. White patches look closer to wingtip than a CONI. Light is from nearby light fixture.
Observation details
Shorter winged, more blunt-tipped, buff appearance versus the grayish CONI with which it was hunting. This is the only Nighthawk that I have seen at this location that looks different that all the other Nighthawks I have seen at this site. As presented in the Comments, the average altitude of the foraging Nighthawks was much below the average that I have seen this Fall at this site. The LENI could have been contributing to the lower altitude as part of its generally lower altitude hunting habits. Please see photos.
