Observation details
Roosting in 3 small mangrove trees (one already dead) surrounded by water at high tide. They must have flown in sometime between 1700 and 1740 while i was fixing dinner. When we saw the trees decorated in large white birds, 2 of us jumped in the dinghy to get closer. We both counted by 10s. The trees to the south each had about 50 birds, and the larger one to the north had more like 80. Some birds were in breeding plumage with dark orange head and neck. I thought I saw only 2 birds that were not cattle egrets, those being the much Great Egret but examination of photos revealed other species. Photos coming of the cattle egrets. Changed total Cattle egret count from 180 to 170, due to presence of other species.
