Observation details
A life bird. The bird was first discovered by Sherrie Roden yesterday through her kitchen window. I was told the hummingbird was an immature male. The bill was red at the base and black tipped and was curved downward and a he had a white eye line. It had a beautiful bright blue gorget and the beginnings of bluish green iridescent feathering on its chest was white below that. The back was iridescent green. The wings were broad and extended beyond the tail. When perched it fluttered its wings and pumped its tail. We were lucky to see this gorgeous hummingbird out in the open in the sunlight. Unfortunately I discovered my camera battery was dead but I was able to get a recording of the bird.
