Observation details
The first storm-petrel of the day was spotted by Alec Humann approaching the concrete ship coming out of the bay. I managed to get on the bird as it was going behind it. After coming back into view, I noticed a few things about the bird. The head-on (or rear view) profile of the bird was a soft 'm' shape with a crook at midwing. The bird was flying fast on shallow wingbeats broken by occasional glides. The upper side of the bird was dull overall with no sharp demarcations, and the carpal bar didn't clearly connect to the forewing. The tail appeared to be squared off and the white rump seemed clean.
