Observation details
One bird seen on flats near SW end of lake, loosely associating with Least Sandpipers. A very small plover (Semipalmated size), very pale gray on upperparts, white below, with incomplete black breast band (narrow black band, broken in the middle). Typical plover behavior-- ran quickly and stopped abruptly, waiting for several seconds before running again. Bird studied for at least 4 minutes at about 150 feet through high power on spotting scope. Several photos taken, but not in sharp focus because of heat shimmer.
