Observation details
First seen chasing a gull. All dark upper parts, dark cap and bill (no contrast as a Pomarine would have in Oct), under-wing tips were much lighter than the rest of the under-wing, prominent breast band contrasting white breast and throat. Compared to a Pomarine the photographed bird showed more white on the belly while on the water. Photos show there is still a pale crescent at the base of the bill. See very far out photo's which don't show as well as the scope did.
