Observation details
3 were together and betw drive and pond as I drove into site; unfortunate for pics, they flew to levee between that pond and one to west before I could retrieve camera. I did however get a pic. (altho veg obscures legs, head & neck are clesarly visible). These egrets were half the size of the nearby GREG; all white plumage with short black legs and feet (not SNEG) and yellow beaks and lores (not LBHE); they have shorter, thicker necks than GREG and others. Unfortunately, due to season, I did not see any of the pale orangy breeding plumes. Note that wide pic includes GREG for size comparison; square pic shows head and neck traits.
