Observation details

Late. Flushed from the ground on the south side. Briefly seen in a small bush before flying across the lake. Large, overall pale sparrow with a fairly thick bill. Distinctive head pattern with a chestnut crown and cheek patch, pale stripe over the eye, and blackish malar stripe. Long tail with white corners seen in flight. At one point heard flight calls as it flew over the lake.
