Observation details
The consensus of about 10 birders that have seen the bird is that it is a Black-chinned Hummingbird, which would be a first state record. Over a 3 hour span it came once to the feeder where it first perched in the tree for about five seconds and then on the feeder for about 10 seconds. The photos submitted as a part of this report were taken under very cloudy conditions before showers resumed for the last two hours. These photos are heavily cropped but not otherwise adjusted or edited. ISO 5000, 1/350 sec, f 5.6, white balance set to cloudy. Taken with Canon 100-400 lens which was inadvertantly zoomed to 214 mm.
