Media notes
Very poor record shot due to distance, but good scope views were obtained. Seen to the left of 2 Killdeer.
Observation details
Poor photo due to distance, but good scope views when not obscured by mud piles and shrubbery/sticks. Medium sized shorebird probing in sewing machine style with its very long bill. Juvenile with fairly square but somewhat irregular edged large black spots on scapulars, surrounded by rusty brown edging. Rusty brown also observed on breast and upper flanks. Grey on neck, cheeks and back of head. Dark cap with whitish spot on lores. Bulky, almost barrel shaped chest. When viewable, legs were yellower than those of the Short-billed Dowitcher’s greenish legs, seen together when the Long-billed moved near it and the Pectoral Sandpiper for a short time.
