Habitat: Dry; cyclic wet-dry; second growth; evergreen; canyon-ravine; roadside. Dominant plants: Acacia modesta, Dodonea viscosa, grasses. Bird is moving (& perhaps feeding?) slowly in between calls, as I had to shift focus over a distance of about 50 yards during recording. This bird was on a flat flood-prone riparian site along a dried up steam at the base of a mountain. The others I've heard tended to call from gentle or steep mountain slopes. Definite counter singing going on with bird up slope. Other Behaviors: Advertise, Counter Singing.
