Observation details
This bird was determines to be an Empidonax Flycatcher because it lacked smudgy undertail coverts and the longer wings of a Western-wood Pewee. We were able to eliminate Least, Dusky and Hammond's based upon the following 4 field marks. 1. The sloping forehead. 2. The brown-olive contrasting with the white throat. 3. Little or no eyering. 4. Long bill. These 4 field marks are consistent with a Willow Flycatcher.
