Observation details

Found and ID’ by Jim Mead. Juvenile plumage. Overall gray dowitchers with deep bellies and rounded backs. Narrow rusty fringes on scapulars with mostly black centers. Plain gray tertials with no internal bars or markings. Both birds showed long bills with a slight downward arch along their outer halves. Gave loud diagnostic "keek" calls. Birds first seen at 7:23 a.m. That was my first time seeing this species at this location and also anywhere in Chittenden County.
