Comments

This was apparently a Philodryas patagoniensis snake being eaten by another snake, an adult Clelia cf. rustica. Both were coiled together among the grasses close to a small flowing stream. When I got closer to them, they separated. I could never see exactly what was happening, but given that Clelia regularly eat other snakes, the sound interpretation seems reasonable. Alternatively, one of them could have been eating a Leptodactylus frog.
