Observation details
***Lifer!! Dorian birds. I had just arrived at the marsh and decided to scan the area for shorebirds. Two Mourning Doves flew by. I put my bins on them and saw 2 more distant birds flying west over the lake. I immediately recognized them as terns and started photographing them. They continued to fly away and to the west, over to the main part of the lake, then disappeared over the treetops. Looking at photos, one is an adult with white below and dark above, and the second is a juvenile- all dark. Both had bouyant, ternlike flight with long wings. I tried to relocate them on the main part of the lake with no success.
