Observation details
Very Rare: First noted at 18:16 flying 40 meters north offshore moving southwest as I was preparing to finish skinning a Herring Gull (for the museum collection). I immediately noted its smaller size and quicker wingbeats with my naked eyes, then saw its sharp breast demarcation and brown uppertail. We then went to the tower to look further and lost it for a few minutes until it soared around a few times and promptly landed. As of the sunset, it appeared to be roosting on the southwestern point.
