Media notes
Data on paper forms available as PDF. This recording contains all of the audio recorded on tape 68-27; Mundinger wrote down Wollensak counter numbers in reference to what was happening on tape. The only edits I made were increases in amplitude. mf On tape, Mundinger calls this bird "Black-chinned Canary". Written on his data sheet is 'canary' and 'black-chinned'. Counter 0-14 = 0:04-0:48 from beginning of specimen: description of display - "This is Friday, September 13th and I'm by C-3..." Counter 32 = 1:28 from beginning: "These are aggressive 'sweeds' by the male canary in here double orange on the left and aluminum and the right..." Counter 98 = 4:03 from beginning: song by orange orange aluminum male canary. Counter 164 = 6:25 from beginning: "Try to record some junco vocalizations; there's a female here giving some soliciting..." Counter 392 =? 13:06 from beginning: note on data sheet "lots of background" and very noisy audio on tape. Counter 444 = 14:49 from beginning: data sheet says that the next section of tape was "cut out Jan '69 put into T-Reel YellIV". On the tape there IS A SPLICE, evidence that indeed some tape was removed from 68-27. Counter 532 = 15:08 from beginning: "10:15 on September 16th...female on the third day of nest-builing..." End counter number 614 = 16:33 from beginning of specimen. Mundinger calls these birds Black-chinned Canaries. Mostly calls from white male and orange female.
