Media notes
A pair on top of a rock. The male makes the soft series of harsh whistles while stretching his neck and the loud harsh 'goose' like voice, the female makes the louder cackling sound in flight [segments 1-4]. Male and female moving their tail to the sides after another bird landed on a distant rock. This seems to be an aggresive vocalization. Also, a loud wing flap made in front of the body by the male seems to be a ritualized aggresion (I heard it a second time in this same context) [segments 5-7]. The recorded pair then flew toward the rock and displaced the third individual [segment 8]. Habitat: Humid Puna grassland and rocky outcrops.
