Observation details
Larger than the Eared and smaller than the Western and Clark's Grebes it was associating with. It was molting into alternate plumage and the face already had a yellow patch. The cheek was still splotchy black and white. The body was long compared to the Eared and tapered down to the water line. The white tip of the bill was clearly visible.
