Observation details
A pair of Savanna nighjar was spotted in the Jammu University Campus.It was noticed because a group of crows were attacking the nighjar and one passerby out of curiosity went close and observed that this is some bird.I was informed by my friend Sudesh about this.I reached the spot ,clicked some pics of dead bird only.Alive partner flew away.We handed over the body to Dept of Zoology for specimen preservation. It was identified by matching the image with the images in Grimmett's book as well as on Ask Id of FB https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10214010701157378&set=gm.1450669628405072&type=3&theater&ifg=1
