Observation details
Uncommon but annual at this location. Was detailing the gulls when I heard an unfamiliar sandpiper calling from above (drier, deeper call note than the Semis and Leasts). I watched the Baird's as it flew in from the north, appearing like a large peep in flight, and landing along the shoreline directly in front of me joining up with the Leasts and Semis. Juvenile bird comparatively larger and more attenuated than Least and Semi. Fresh plumage with scaly pattern above and long primaries extending well beyond tail tip. Buffy breast band with fine dark vertical streaking within. Photos.
