Media notes
First segment: The birds are frequently engaging in the same pairing maneuver as the recordings taken on Nov. 20 with the same overall patterns in vocalization. This recording is taken from just inside the small gorge approx. 75 ft. from the showering area with the mic pointed above the "Helipad" and "Hole in the Wall". The number of birds is an approximation. Fifth segment: At approx. :57, two birds in the "paired" formation approach from behind the microphone coming to within approx. 2 ft. of it. The pair arc to the left and perform at counterclockwise loop back towards the mic calling again as they pass. Sixth segment: The Black Winged Petrel is attempting to "chase" the Round Island petrels. It is unsuccessful in following a single bird for all but a short period of time. Its vocalizations can be heard at approx. 2:53 & 3:26. LNS: Recording is from 1618-1722. LNS: 100HZ AUHipass filter applied to fourth and seventh segments in soundBlade.
