Observation details
Similar count as July 2018. All heard singing (mostly fast-warble song) in large grass field south of road, pretty evenly distributed along the 0.5 miles stretch surveyed by walking. Individuals were out in field 100-200 ft - at least three down toward the grassy swale. Two were in the south field as Prutsman Rd descends down the east side of the hill. Similar count and locations as on June 19; birds seemingly still on territories. South field is private so was not able to survey off road but seems likely there are more individuals in the field (see pic) and perhaps in adjacent old fields noted on Google Maps that are also private. South field has not been cut in at least two years. Largest contiguous population of GRSP I am aware of in the southern tier counties of NY.
