Comments

This bird was identified as either Catharus dryas or C. frantzii by Ted Parker at a later date. Habitat: Primary forest Recordist Note: "Heavy forest, not far from where Ruddy-capped Nightingale Thrush was recorded. Sometimes one might confuse those two species, but this individual could only be a solitaire. Like Jamaican Solitaire, without the bell-like trills of that species. Also like Slate Colored Solitaire, but much shorter and simpler, though otherwise as musical, songs.". Response to playback: Came closer, but did not expose itself. Equipment Notes: Recorder: Midgetape Microphone: Midgetape.
