Observation details
First heard by John Fussell from long distance. We later made trip by surfboard and kayak and tracked it down. Song was slower than Red-eyed Vireo. It seems his song did pick up pace, but before I left slowed down once again. Bird has large bill and at times the "whisker" could be seen depending on lighting. Here's your chance to possibly re-find this bird. The Island is small, but a little hard to get to. There is a boating dock to tie up to if you have a boat. We were able to get there by surf board and kayak. Boots maybe needed as the shore line has lots of washed up boards with exposed nails. We found in the middle of the island off the main path. Note the Spoonbill that John and I found last week is located near by on Rachel Island just across the bay.
