Subtitle: Dawn Chorus. An Adirondack dawn chorus as heard from the edge of spruce forest and a black spruce-tamarack bog. The recording began at 5:13 am and ended at 6:03 am. Swainson's Thrush (Catharus ustulatus) is prominent for the first 6+ minutes of the recording; a Yellow-bellied Flycatcher (Empidonax flaviventris) vocalizes close to the microphones three times, starting at the 7:23 mark; a singing Nashville Warbler (Oreothlypis ruficapilla) is prominent from 13:28 to 14:57; and White-throated Sparrow (Zonotrichia albicollis) dominates the last 15 minutes of the recording. Mosquitoes can be quite conspicuous at times, but are quieter or absent during the last 15 minutes of the recording. Equipment Notes: Decoded MS Stereo. The MS pair was placed on a small Ultrapod tripod that was placed on a fallen tree, resulting in the microphones being a few feet off the ground.
