Observation details
Pictures attached. I have seen olive-sided flycatcher on multiple occasions in CA, and this bird looked and fit the part. Spent its time perched upright high in the trees. Most notable visual characteristic was a stark “vested” look on the breast. White stripe down the center, grey “vest” down the sides. Tail is dark with a slight fork to it in most postures. White throat. Even grey head/cheeks. Relatively wide bill at the base, going out to a pointed tip. Subtle wing bars with white tips at the end of the wing coverts. Bird was at the top of the trees on the east side of the pond. Roughly in the mid point of the pond.
