Observation details
*Very rare this far east. Seen well foraging with other swallows above the cottonwood gallery forest. Occurrence possibly associated with recent weather event. This was a medium-sized swallow with clean white underparts. White on throat wrapped around neck to auriculars. White saddlebags evident in flight. The back was a metallic green, with bluish-purple tint to wings. Tree Swallow would lack white on sides of rump and above eyes, and have different coloration to upperparts.
