Observation details

***Uncommon vagrant, with less than annual occurrence on St Paul Island in spring. Seen on Antone Lake. Large gray goose; dark bill with orange subterminal band. Short neck, short deep-based bill, and large grin patch helped differentiate from Taiga Bean-Goose. Did not have the long sloping head shape and bill of a Taiga Bean-Goose. Photos provided and digiscoped video available.
