The bird was heard atop a tall Alder (Alnus nipalensis) tree. That was part of a stand of alder trees alongside a stream with fairly degraded understory. Bird was heard during the approach to the trail and eventually it called from a tree right above the observers. It did not seem to perform its full song instead repeating a few notes – a part of entire repertoire. After about two minutes of calling the bird stopped vocalizing, it started calling again a short while later and was then see about 80 feet (25 metres) off the ground in a dense tangle just below the top of the tree.
Call heard and male seen by some members of the group. Bird was sitting in the top most parts of a tall alder , the underside and the flanks were partially visible.
