Very quite. 0:56 uv I'm not really picking up from there. 1:00 uv His back is to us as well. 1:02 uv It just doesn't seem like he's registering. 1:08 uv Now, if I don't see it here does that mean I'm not hearing it? 1:13-1:33 uv It's not really going down, not well anyway. So the next thing to do is to, again, have the distance to the bird. We can try and do that now while he's over at that other _____ perhaps you can try and get closer to the _____. 1:37-2:01 uv One of the things to watch is while this birds singing, behaviors that are associated with song. Does he flip his tail up and down with each strophe, each phrase? Does he throw the head back, turn it from side to side while he's singing. That's good behavior to get. Sometimes some of the sparrows flick their wings while they sing. Some of these behaviors are specific. 2:02 uv Okay, so it can help you to id them. 2:03-2:25 uv It can help you to id them and it's also not information that you find in a lot of literature so you have the opportunity to gather behavioral information that may not exist anywhere else. And you're seeing it first-hand. You can announce the behavior right on tape and we have a great scientific record. 2:25-16:00 ambi -birds. While these sounds are not that loud there are many different types of bird calls present, a lot of layers. There are some sounds of walking in the first few seconds but they stop. Overall this is good sound but there isn't any one specific point that jumps out as better than the others. Good. 9:04 uv (whispered) What are the bird with the yellow heads called? (whispered, but still loud enough to hear) 9:06 uv Yellow-headed blackbirds. (whispered, but still loud enough to hear) 13:01 uv Don't move. He's right behind us. 16:01 uv That was good Christen. How was your level? 16:05 Christen Good I think. That was good. 16:08-16:51 uv You could hear that as he would move his head side to side he could actually project it more efficiently in this direction. I think what we might do, it's getting close to breakfast time, so if I leave and Don leaves, birds can't count so if we get up and walk away he may actually come into this song perch very close to you if you just sit tight. Tend to keep your head still and just look from side to side using your peripheral vision. I think you might get him in very close. If you want to... (Notes truncated)
