Media notes
White-rumped Sandpiper
Observation details
Note the black primaries extend beyond the tail. Also Streaking is continuous from upper breast along the flanks. The bill is slightly down curved and you can see the reddish spot at the base of the lower mandible in several photos. Legs and bill are black. The general shape of WRSA and Baird's Sandpiper is much more stretched out from head to tail, giving the bird a slimmer appearance, unlike the short appearance of Semipalmated Sandpipers and Western Sandpipers.
