Observation details
A woodcock was seen displaying in a very small area of around 7 by 11 metres in mixed woods (aspens, white birch, jack, red and small white pines). This same area was an open field 30 yrs ago and now the bird occupies the last remaining open ground. A rival bird made a brief rattling flight over the displaying bird. Also a 3rd displaying bird to the east. At least 3.
