Observation details
Walking north on 31st Av S, I heard a loud screech in a tree in boulevard on east side of the road. I stopped and looked but couldn’t locate bird, though it had sounded as if it were right above me. Then it flew past, a lime green streak. It perched on a high branch of a tree in a yard a few doors south on 31st. I had my binoculars with me and quickly saw it was a parrot — or, as I learned later, a parakeet. I immediately took it for an escaped pet. Generally green, with a gray forehead (so to speak), lower face, throat, & breast. My partner took a few pictures (attached), and we pointed it out to the family in whose yard the bird was now perched. We watched it for five minutes, then left.
