Observation details
(rare filter 1): ho distant fast steady hooting , perfect tone for sawwhet, as fast as fastest speed recording sample I have of it : singing was spontaneous, 8:55p when arrive , coming from west of Hwy : sometimes can make out another hooting alongside/with/at : singing distant but ongoing many minutes, sometimes comes in clearer so is “obvious owl” vs. when winds pick up a little and then singing is so distant/faint again : can only be sure a few times that there are 2, when heard clearer and if one stumbles/patters/pauses tooting . Note, they are still singing when I leave, so : 20-min continuous spontaneous singing . I attempted making recording of — and yes, it’s faint, but recordings did pick tooting up !
