Observation details
Spotted by Barb, who promptly turned the car around to investigate a brief glimpse of a pair of waterfowl out in the field north of the road. Much to everyone's delight, they were indeed Black-bellied Whistling-Ducks, standing no farther than twenty meters from the road and very unconcerned by our presence. After a few nervous steps they quickly realized we were no threat and tucked their heads in for a nap.
