Blood Pheasants ********************** Pheasants are large bodied, ground dwelling and most colourful birds of the world. Taxonomically, Pheasant represent family Phasianidae (subfamily phasianinae) of the order Galliformes. Pheasants are divided into pheasants of the mountain and pheasants of the plains. The pheasants of the mountains are high altitude ecosystem bird found at heights ranging from 1000 to 5000 msl and pheasants of the plains usually occur below 300 msl. Altogether, there are 51 species of pheasants in the world. Out of this, 50 species are of Asian origin except one Congo Peafowl endemic to Republic of Congo. Out of 17 species of pheasants found in India, 11 species (80%) are found in Arunachal Pradesh. Thus, Arunachal Pradesh is the richest Indian state in term of Pheasant diversity. The state is home of Mrs Hume Pheasant, Grey peacock Pheasant, Kalij Pheasant, Tibetan eared Pheasant, Blood Pheasant, Satyr Tragopan, Blyth’s Tragopan, Temminck Tragopan, Himalayan Monal, Scalater’s Monal and Red Jungle fowl. ************************ On My recent Visit to Arunachal Pradesh One Day i Visited To Famous Madhuri Lake , Weather Was Cloudy .. There Is Heavy Snow falls , Some Sliding also There .. Most Part Of the Lakes Covered With Fog. On My return Time I saw This Beauty . Dream For Every Birder ..Blood Pheasant Under Cover Of Snow fall
