Flying to the NW almost exclusively in pairs. All in breeding plumage, dark brown and dark underwing consistent except 4 still showing white neck and breast. Flight fast rocking slightly from side to side just above the surface of the ocean. Observation of the murrelets for 32 minutes counting those flying past a fixed point on Haddington Island. I have been observing these birds for several years to notice the differences with Ancient Murrelets and other alcids. Twelve power binoculars with image stabilization allowed a much clearer view than the pictures reveal.
