Observation details
Single bird flying alone Southward in front of Gulf Pier about 60 minutes after the large group of Pomerine Jaegers. Seen and photographed by several including Ron Smith, Jannis and Dennis Burns . Compared to Pomerine this bird has a shorter tail (lacking the "spoon" tip) and a white crescent at the top base of the bill. Our suspicions were confirmed by Ron Smith sending these four photos to FOS comittee member and pelagic trip leader Michael Brothers who agreed it is a Parasitic.
