Observation details
Found a transient male King Eider loosely grouped with 3 commons by a rocky semi-breakwater on Saquish.. Missed it this winter and this is my first Spring sighting as i recall .- distant documentation pix below. (Note: Access only from private property). However, given that birds don't read signs and move around the bay and this transient is not traveling with a large group - it may be worth checking small groups or even singleton eiders in the area for a few days.
